Men's squads now available

Gentlemen,

The selection committee has spent the last 6 weeks working hard on ensuring everyone has been allocated to the appropriate team, based on a number of factors including trials/scratch matches and the positional needs of  teams.  Now that this process has concluded,  the squads for this weekend are attached.

I would like to point out that managing over 180 players has been a difficult process and we appreciate that not everything may be 100% first time around.  For this reason, over the first 3 weeks of the season, the selection committee will be working with the captains and coaches to ensure that anyone who is clearly in the wrong team is placed in the most appropriate team available where possible. A meeting of the selection committee has been scheduled for the week following Round 3 where any squad movement will happen.

If anyone has any specific issues or concerns, please either speak to your captain or coach or myself so we can address any concerns you may have.

Finally, UWAHC has a strong history of being a very competitive and social club. Life-long friendships (and relationships) are formed at the Blue Bar and I would hope that if you haven't initially been selected in the team you'd hoped for, this is seen less as a disappointment and more as an opportunity to get involved at our world-class club.

Fixtures are available here: https://sportsdesq.onesporttechnology.com/27/

All new players need to complete a transfer form IMMEDIATELY and are available here: http://www.hockeywa.org.au/uploads/pdf/Clearance%20Form%202014.pdf

Many thanks again for all your hard work with attending trials and scratch matches! Good luck for season 2014!

Women's draft squads now available

Ladies. The selection committee has spent the last 4 weeks working hard on ensuring everyone has been allocated to the correct team. Managing over 150 people is a difficult process, and we appreciate that not everything may be 100%. Please be assured that over the next 4-6 weeks we will be working along side your coaches to ensure if anyone should be moving up, or down that, this will be highlighted, and movement will happen. Due to moving an entire team to SOAKS (which we hope will continue as the two clubs have a long standing relationship), we have created more space in the squads, which will in turn makes teams more fluid than in previous years.

If anyone has any specific issues or concerns, please either speak to your coach or myself and we can address appropriately. Many thanks again for all your hard work with attending trials and scratcheys! Good luck this season! Mel

Role: Match day attendent

We are currently looking for a reliable individual to support the club as a match day attendant. The match day attendant is primarily responsible for ensuring that the grounds are appropriately set up for first grade matches, running the scoreboard and organising the BBQ (others will cook etc). Outside of match days there are some minor mid week duties that include ordering food for the BBQ and confirming the attendance of volunteers/ball-kids.

There are approximately 10 home games on a mixture of Saturdays and Sundays throughout the year. The role will be be about 6-7 hours when there is a double header and about 4 hours when only one of the men or women are playing. If 2 people want to share the role we would be happy to discuss that.

Preference will be given to interested UWA students. The club will compensate $$ for helping us out with this - anyone interested should contact the Vice President via the contacts page
