UWA Hockey Club seeks a highly skilled, knowledgeable, and inspiring person to take up the position of Head Coach of the Men’s Premier League Team.
The University of WA Hockey Club (UWAHC) is one of the largest and most prestigious hockey clubs in Western Australia with over 1,000 members representing men, women, and junior teams (and a strong affiliation with Soaks).
UWAHC is also one of the strongest clubs in competition and strives for club-wide success annually. The Men’s and Women’s clubs over the years have shared multiple premierships in the 1st grade competitions.
In 2021, UWA Hockey Club won Best Senior Club of the Year.
Job Description Overview
- Manage team lists, recruitment, and junior pathways into Premier Squads, including training and practice matches
- Conduct 2 x 1.5hr training sessions per week alongside Assistant Coach and leadership groups with enthusiasm, consistent intensive sessions which encourage team play, skill development, team culture and consistent feedback
- Game Day coach throughout the season
- Mentor Assistant Coach and 2’s men’s Coach at training
- Encourage coaching and player development throughout the Club
- Promote club participation and volunteering
